To replace the headlamp dimmer switch on a 1998 Chevy Prizm, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the screws and gently prying it apart. Locate the dimmer switch, disconnect the wiring harness, and unscrew the switch from the column. Install the new switch by reversing the process, reconnecting the wiring, and reattaching the steering column cover.
Be sure the dash light dimmer switch is not turned off. Check the fuses.

The parking lights on a 2001 Chevy Prizm may not turn off due to a faulty headlight switch, a malfunctioning relay, or a stuck dimmer switch. Additionally, there could be an issue with the wiring or a short circuit in the electrical system. It's advisable to check these components, as they can prevent the lights from turning off even when the vehicle is off. If troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue, consulting a mechanic may be necessary.
