passenger side you will need to remove the relay box over the light, on the drivers side you may need to remove the battery. After that is done pull the bulb plug straight back to remove it. Then pull off the rubber cup that seals the bulb. Remember when you put it back on the drain holes go down. The bulb is held in by a spring retainer. There is a loop to use as a handle and it locks in place under a tab. Just hold the loop and push in a little and rotate it a tad to unlock it. The bulb just slides out then. Remember to not touch the glass part of the new bulb as it can shorten the life. The oil on your fingers, natural skin oil, will cause a hot spot on the bulb and can make it go out faster. Get the same bulb that came out. H2 55watt if I recall.

When you open the hood look above the headlight for two round plastic caps. Pull these upwards, it releases the light assembly.
The bulbs unscrew from the back of the light assy. sometimes you have to remove it to get to the back.
To replace the headlight on a 2000 Chevy Metro, first, open the hood and locate the headlight assembly. Remove the retaining screws or clips securing the assembly, then gently pull it forward. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the headlight bulb, replace the bulb with a new one, and reassemble the assembly by reconnecting it and securing the screws or clips. Finally, test the new headlight to ensure it works properly.
2000
I have a 2002 Prism. It does have a fuel filter but only a mechanic can replace it. The repair book I bought suggests this isn't a "do it yourself" job.
