To change the spark plugs on a 2005 Chevy Colorado 3.5L, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the ignition coil cover by unscrewing it, then disconnect the ignition coil connectors and remove the coils to access the spark plugs. Use a spark plug socket to carefully unscrew the old plugs, and replace them with new ones, ensuring they are properly gapped. Finally, reassemble the ignition coils and cover, and reconnect the battery.
Remove the spark plug wires from your 2004 Chevy Malibu spark plugs. Remove the old spark plugs with a 5/8 deep well socket, by turning the socket to the left. Reverse the process to install the new spark plugs.
The spark plugs for a Chevy Tahoe run between $8 each up to $39 each. The cost to replace them runs between $64 and $312.
Torque settings are specific with spark plugs. I'd recommend you go to an auto parts store, and get a Haynes or Chilton book for your vehicle.
Spark plugs are a cheap and quick fix if one goes out. The cost to replace one on a 454 chevy engine however can differ depending in the spark plug brand.
