first pull out the radio and undo the antenna plug from the back of it. Tie a 6 foot peice of bailer twine or similar string to the end above the plug, and tape it on. Next undo the screws in the plate holding the antenna to the fender of the truck( if that is the type you have). Pull the antenna wire out until you get about 6 inches of the string. Tie the string to the plug on the new antenna and tape it on. Go back into the cab and pull the string until you can get the plug. Pull the plug until you can plug it into the radio. Reinstall the radio. Go back to the fender and feed the rest of the antenna wire into the hole and put the screws back through the plate to hold the new antenna in place. If it doesn't have screws and plate, then the antenna is held on by a nut under the fender, and you need to undo the wheel well liner to get at it. good luck.
