To replace the headlight assembly on a 1998 Isuzu Trooper, first, open the hood and remove the screws or bolts securing the headlight assembly, typically located at the top and side. Unfortunately you can't just change the motor. You have to buy and replace the whole assembly including the window. Its a rip-off but the motor, ratchet, arms and window comes as one replacement assembly.
You should be able to see where the bulb housing screws into the back of the lens. You just unscrew the housing which contains the bulb. Replace the bulb carefully "DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS END OF THE BULB WITH YOUR FINGERS" it will ruin the bulb.
There is one Phillips head screw on the top of the asseembly, close to the headlight. Remove the screw, and there will be a ball and socket connection holding the assembly in place. Gently pull the top of the assembly toward the front of the truck. Then use a long screwdriver to gently pry the bottom toward the front of the truck. Keep alternating between the top and bottom, prying it a little at a time. Eventually, the unit will pop out.
