It has been my experience as a repair shop owner for 22 years and a technician for 45 years that I VERY seldom replace rear main seals. Find a shop that is familar with the Positive Crankcase Ventilation System. It requires more than just replacing the PCV valve. The system MUST be drawing in fresh air. If it does then it is relieving the crankcase pressure from the engine. The pressure causes the seal to leak. RELIEVE the pressure and clean the area and see if the leak has stopped. In my time as a technician I have only replaced rear main seals when doing a clutch job or installing a used engine.
Remove the transmission and starter. Unbolt the flexplate from the crank. While you're at it, replace the rear main seal. Replace the flexplate and torque bolts to manufacturer's specs.

It is bolted to the rear main cap and inside of the oil pan.
if you spun a main bearing then it is wise just to have the engine rebuilt.it is near impossible to fix mainbearing especially if it caused any damage to the crank shaft.

Your vehicle has a starter solenoid which is piggy back on the starter.
It depends on what year Caprice you have but in most cases the transmission would have to be removed. You are probably looking at 4 hours shop time plus parts, aprox $400.
