remove the steering column shouds and use a T20 torx screwdriver to take the two T/S switch mounting screws out and replace the switch.

The turn signal switch is mounted in the steering column. Unscrew all 5 screws in the bottom of the lower cover and remove the lower and upper covers. You should now be able to see the switch itself and how it is mounted to swap it out.
The turn signal flasher relay switch is located beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher relay switch will be to the left of the brake pedal.
The 1997 Toyota Corolla turn signal flasher relay switch can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The turn signal flasher relay switch will be above the accelerator pedal.
Your switch on your sterring wheel colum is bad. Replace.
Remove the plastic shielding from around the steering column, unplug the multifunction switch, remove the bolts used to mount the multifunction switch. Installation is the opposite of reverse
Low beam bulb burnt out? Replace bulb. Bulbs OK? If the dimmer switch is also the turn signal/cruise/headlight on and off switch, you probably have to replace the entire switch.

I am assuming the "multi-function" switch is the TURN SIGNAL/HI-LO BEAM/WIPER CONTROL SWITCH. It is located on the left side of the steering column.
If you are speaking of the speed control switch it is located in the dash.Pop off the trim and pull out the switch panel..behind the switch is a black cylinder looking gadget with a connector on it.Just pop it off and replace....no need to replace the whole panel.
