Replacing the windshield washer pump on a 1993 Honda Civic is a relatively straightforward DIY task. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you do it: 🔧 Tools & Materials You'll Need: New washer pump (make sure it's compatible with a 1993 Civic) Flathead and Phillips screwdrivers Ratchet and socket set (10mm usually) Pliers Catch pan or rags (for any washer fluid spills) Optional: Jack and jack stands (if you need more room) 🚗 Step-by-Step Instructions: Locate the Washer Pump The washer pump is mounted to the windshield washer reservoir, which is typically located in the front passenger side of the engine bay or in the passenger side fender (behind the wheel well liner in some models). Access the Reservoir If the reservoir is in the fender: Jack up the front passenger side of the car. Remove the front wheel for better access (optional). Remove the inner fender liner (plastic splash guard) using a Phillips screwdriver or 10mm socket to expose the reservoir and pump. Drain the Washer Fluid (Optional) Place a catch pan under the reservoir and unplug the hose from the pump to drain the washer fluid. Or, remove the entire reservoir and dump it. Disconnect the Washer Pump Unplug the electrical connector from the pump. Disconnect the washer fluid hose from the pump. The pump is typically pressed into a rubber grommet in the reservoir. Just pull it out—it may take a little force. Install the New Pump Push the new pump into the grommet (or replace the grommet if it's worn). Reconnect the washer fluid hose. Plug in the electrical connector. Test It Refill the washer reservoir with fluid. Turn the key to ON and activate the washer to make sure the pump works and sprays correctly.
