can only be done with a scanner , as of 96 obd II computers cant be dead brained like obd1 computers could. obd1 just disconnect the battery for 10 seconds, not with 1996 and newer vehicles they have to cleared with a scanner - go to pep boys or auto zone and have them read codes and clear them - esp.if there is no drivability issues - otherwise you have to see a repair shop
That requires an OBDII engine scanner.
I have the check engine light on and the code is for map sensor on my 1999 1500 Chevy suburban
It requires an engine scanner to do that.
How do I reset the service engine light on a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer?
That's the computer's way of telling you that something is wrong and it wants you to read the diagnostic code.
Maybe you should service the engine soon. :P
can you tell me why my 1999-2000 Chevy trailblazer light is on
Check
There is a problem with the emissions system. You need to have the engine scanned with an engine scanner to be able to find out what is wrong and then FIX the problem that made it come on in the first place. Then clear the codes and it will go off.
That requires an engine scanner to do that. If you don't repaire what made the light come on in the first place it will just come back on.
When service engine light is on on a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, the problem could be a faulty thermostat, a circuit range performance problem, or any other problem.
