My Dau has an extended cab 1994 Dakota. To remove have a 9/16 wrench, 9/16 socket (with about 20 inches of extension (preferred). There are 3 bolts on each side of the bed running down the frame. Remove them. Use your wrench on the last bolt (by the tail gate. Unplug your wiring harness to the lights....... Get friends..... pick up bed. Yer done.

It is good for the truck, but probably won't pass an emissions test. I cut my catalytic converter off of my 1994 dodge Dakota 4x4 and it sounds a little louder and runs easier, but you shouldn't if you're a treehugger. lol, but then you probably wouldn't have a truck anyways, you would have a bicycle, or a Toyota prius.
