Pull the oil pan off and count the bolts in the main caps, 2 bolt main engines only have 2 bolts holding the main caps to the engine block. 4 bolt main engines have 4 bolts holding the main caps on.
MAIN CAPS IS WHAT HOLDS THE CRANKSHAFT IN THE ENGINE BLOCK.
The main bearing caps will have four ( 4 ) bolts instead of two ( 2 ) they will be side by side. A four bolt 350 engine is more common in the bigger truck series ?
can be both ,i have a 350 010 2bolt main
A real LT-1 had a four bolt main block.
Almost certainly would be a four bolt main block.
None. The four bolt main block is thought to be more rigid at higher loads.
A 350 with four bolt main caps is known as the "double-oh ten block." The last four numbers on the casting are 0010.
There are no castings that were used exclusively for 4 bolt main applications.
Are you referring to the main caps? If you are some had two bolt mains, and some had four bolt mains.
It is a small block Chevy 350 engine with 6 bolt main caps.
Unfortunately the answer is.... maybe. The only way to tell is by knowing the casting numbers and looking them up or to drop the pan and look for yourself.
both. in the earlier days the two barrel models were usually two bolt main and the 4 barrel models were four bolt main, but even that wasn't necessarily so.
they stoped making the 4 bolt main 350 in 2002 hope that helps
