I have had this problem three times. With my 1990 GEO Prizm I went to a dealer (any Chevy or Toyota dealer will do this) with my title and insurance card and got a new key for way cheaper ($4.00) than a locksmith would charge. With my 1999 Chevy Prizm, I had the same problem twice. A locksmith told me that these are hard vehicles to get into, so I ended up going to a dealer again. The above answer is the correct answer.
