To wire a 1999 Ford F-150 starter solenoid switch, first, disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts. Connect the positive battery cable to the large terminal on the solenoid, then attach the smaller terminal to the ignition switch wire. Finally, connect the other large terminal to the starter motor. Ensure all connections are tight and secure before reconnecting the battery.
Starter Ignition Neutral switch
To hookup the solenoid switch on F150 pick-up 5.0 after replacing it, first connect a voltmeter or test light to the solenoid's S terminal. Make sure the starter receives voltage at that terminal when the ignition switch is in the on position.
On the Starter
starter is out, motor is locked up or your starter solenoid is out.
It is located in the engine compartment on the passengers side firewall. the solenoid is located under the hood
If this happened immediately after replacing the starter, I would say the wires on the solonoid are connected wrong. It could be the switch but I think it is the wiring.
To connect the wires on a 1986 Ford F150 solenoid, start by removing the negative battery cable, then connect the wire from the ignition switch to the "S" terminal on the solenoid. Next, connect the wire from the starter to the "I" terminal on the solenoid. Finally, reconnect the negative battery cable. Be sure to consult a wiring diagram specific to your vehicle for accurate connections.
Fusable link? Check at starter solenoid
your starter relay is pretty much your starter solenoid, its located 1 ft to the right of your battery, mounted on your firewall and has a black plastic shroud covering it. Its held on be 2 bolts, prolly 5/16, and has 2 large terminals, and has 1 small terminal coming from your ignition switch. your starter relay is pretty much your starter solenoid, its located 1 ft to the right of your battery, mounted on your firewall and has a black plastic shroud covering it. selonoid is bad on fire wall or switch wire on stater selonoid is bad
Usually against the inner fender wall maybe behind the battery
Find the positive battery terminal. Follow the thick cable from that terminal and it will lead to the starter solenoid.
