An engine creates a vaccuum. This sucks in air, past a metered hole in the carb. This sucks a vapor spray of gas, which mixes with the air. This mixture passes through the intake manifold runners, into the cylinder head runners. When the intake valve opens, the mixture is sucked into the cylinder. The piston comes up to compress the mixture. When it is almost all the way up, the spark plug ignites the mixture, causing an explosion, which blows the piston back down. This is called the power stroke. Then, the exhaust valve opens, and the piston starts back up, which pushes out the burned fuel, which travels out the exhaust. The piston starts back down, and the intake valve re opens, which sucks the next charge in, and restarts the process. That is why it is a 4 stroke motor. 4 strokes per cycle.
180 is best.
A cylinder is misfiring.
no modifications necessary
the iron block only-about 350 lbs but I advise against it, they do run warm despite what some say
Checker motor company used small blocks, Deloreans had 350's for a while, I also know of many boat versions available. The Datsun 260, and 280z cars were originally slated to run small blocks, but the deal fell through. Many motorhomes were equiped with the SBC, as well. I had a 90 caddy limo, that had a small block in it as well as all GMC trucks ran Chevy motors.
With two wires crossed it would run, poorly but it would run. With four or more wires crossed, probably not.
An HEI from the factory but can run most any aftermarket and depending on where you are sourcing may or may not even be included.
Huh?
A 400 small block can run from 350hp to 400hp just depends what your running with it.
Run a small piece of wire down through them and clean them with carb cleaner. Then blow them out with air.
no
The duration a 350 engine can run on a gallon of gas at idle varies based on several factors, including engine condition and idle speed. On average, a small block Chevy 350 engine consumes about 0.5 to 1 gallon of fuel per hour while idling. Therefore, you can expect it to run for approximately 1 to 2 hours on a gallon of gas at idle. However, actual performance may vary.
