The Australian v8supercar race series is an evolution of the historic Ford verses Holden (General Motors) racing that started in the 1960's. The cars have a Ford or GM 5 litre engine making just over 620HP running Ethanol E85. They use a control straight shift gearbox and control differential and have a maximum top speed on 306KMH (or 190 mile per hour).
