Basically it is a compressor that is forcing more air into your engine.
However, it is not that simple. When you add more air you have to add more fuel to burn that extra air. So a lot of times you need larger fuel injectors, larger fuel pump, and a custom chip to control everything. All of these items normally come inside of the kit.
On a centrifugal supercharger(Paxton, vortech, procharger-yes. On a whipple /eaton- no because they are located between the throttle body and engine, BOV only work when the throttle body is between the supercharger and engine.
You can, but if it is supercharged stock when you buy a car new (Audi A6 for example), it will do pretty poorly and since it's stock with the car, you wouldn't need to take it off, but if you buy a car with an aftermarket supercharger or you add one on and you want to take it off, you can with the same work you did putting it on.
Can a supercharger work on a 97 ford probe
An electric supercharger is essentially an electric motor run off a car's alternator driving a high speed fan which attempts to force more air into a car's air intake. The idea is the same as a turbocharger or supercharger, the more air and fuel forced into the combustion chamber the more power that will be developed by the engine. The only difference between a turbocharger or supercharger and the electric supercharger is that the electric supercharger is limited by how much power the car's battery and alternator can supply whereas a turbocharger and supercharger is limited by the amount of power the engine can supply which is significantly greater in comparison.
No
Supercharger
means the car has a supercharger
This car is equipped with a Supercharger. All superchargers whine. This is normal and is inherently something you live with when you drive a car equipped with a supercharger.
depending on the size of the supercharger.. 30% to 40%
No!
You can but its very tricky unless you are a mechanic!
