Cruise control on a 2000 Vectra operates by maintaining a set speed without the driver needing to keep their foot on the accelerator. When activated, the system uses electronic signals to regulate the throttle position, ensuring the vehicle maintains the desired speed. The driver can adjust the speed using controls on the steering wheel or dashboard, and the system can be disengaged by pressing the brake pedal or turning off the cruise control switch. This feature enhances comfort during long drives by reducing fatigue.
Just about any aftermarket cruise control package will work on a 2000 Echo. It should be professionally installed to make sure there are no safety concerns.
Check fuse and/or power relay that controls the speed control.
The cruise system shares fuses with the engine and brake lights. If the car runs and the brake lights work, it is not a fuse.
The cruise control may not work is there is a problem with the brakes. Check to ensure that the cruise lights come on in the dash. Also, check all the vacuum lines to see if there is any issue.
If the cruise control on your 1987 300ZX does not work, you might have an issue with the cruise control fuse or wiring. You could also have a problem with the switch that turns the cruise control on and off.
