Remove the steering column covers by unscrewing the screws and gently prying them apart. Then, locate the ignition switch mounted on the steering column, disconnect the wiring harness, and unbolt the switch. Install the new ignition switch in reverse order, reconnect the wiring, and reassemble the steering column covers before reconnecting the battery.

Forget about it, it came apart because something broke. Buy a replacement assembly from your local auto parts store from Dorman products.

Remove these screws using a screwdriver, then gently pull the assembly away from the vehicle. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the tab and pulling it apart, then swap out the old assembly for the new one, reconnect the electrical plug, and secure it back in place with the screws.
