Very fast
The 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS is powered by Chevrolet's 5.7L LT1. It was basically the same as the LT4 found in earlier Corvettes but the pistons are Iron, and it is camed for more torque at lower rpm.
I have one and most of the folks on the Impala SS forum believe the speed to be 145. I've personally had mine to 144 and that was all of it. I have a few mods on mine as well. I hope this helps I had an 94' caprice LT-1 w/tow pack , Took off the top speed limiter in the pcm''STOCK'' w/catback exhaust .Went 145mph and was still going! Don't think it would do 150mph. But could hit 147-148mph if I stayed on it . I think any good running94-96 SS can run over 140+mph
yes you can use a 1996 lt4 engine into a 1989 Caprice Classic, and its easy. you can mail me at:
With the 5.7L LT1 V8 it puts out 300HP and with the 5.7L LT4 V8 it puts out 330HP
You can get a 1996 Chevy Corvette vacuum hose schematic diagram at most Chevrolet dealerships. Your local library will have Chevrolet Corvette service manuals with the diagram.
i believe you need too get the LT4 heads for that too work
330hp, 340tq
because why not
I cant give ya exact answer but the 266 is very close to a Lt4 hotcam. Lt4 hotcam with 1.6rr can net you around 30-40 rwhp with proper supporting mods.
about 305 horse.
I believe 330HP, for an SLP altered LT4 equipped.
The LT4 motor is a high-performance V8 engine developed by General Motors, primarily used in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Camaro ZL1. It features a supercharged 6.2-liter displacement, delivering impressive horsepower and torque figures, making it suitable for high-performance applications. The LT4 is part of GM's Gen V small block engine family and incorporates advanced technologies such as direct fuel injection and variable valve timing for improved efficiency and performance.
