You must remove the intake manifold, disconnect the exhaust manifolds, and then remove the heads. This is a major repair that takes skill and knowledge. Unless you know what you are doing this repair is best left to a professional.

It might be your head gasket. Head gaskets are a huge problem in Dodge Neons.

Yes, gaskets do go bad on oil pans, I have had this happen to me on a ram van 250. It's a somewhat hard task to replace it, so i would take it to a local dealer or shop.

I'm doing this now. It's a little daunting, because you have to take off the intake manifold. It's not particularly hard, it just takes time. It took me 4-5 hours to simply get everything taken apart. Lots of hoses and couplers to disconnect. You have to drain about 1/2 gallon of coolant from the radiator before you start. Also, getting all of the gaskets was the hard part. I had to special order most from a Suzuki dealership. Total cost of gaskets: about $120. Gaskets you'll need: - Intake manifold gaskets - Valve cover gaskets - Throttle body gasket (believe me, you'll need it) - Surge tank pipe gaskets (2) (front pipe with two bolts on each side) - Intake collector gaskets (2) (rear pipe with three bolts on each side, to which the throttle body is connected)
On 4 cylinder it takes about 20-30 minutes. For V-6 it might take couple hours.
The regulator is part of the engine computer. It is expensive and has some important steps involved to replace.
