If the vehicle is driving around town it is going to normally use more fuel than if it is cruising down the interstate with the cruise control set. If the vehicle is cruising the interstate pulling a 30 foot long trailer hauling a race car and all of the gear needed at the race track or drag strip its going to burn a lot of gasoline in an hour!
