If you have a 1998 or newer Ford Crown Victoria that has the Coil On Plug
( C.O.P.) ignition system there are ( 8 ignition coils ) as mentioned above
Before that the 4.6 liter in a Ford Crown Victoria had ( 2 coil packs )
my 1985 ford crown Victoria ignition has locked up! what do i do?
The Coil On Plug ignition system uses ( 8 ) individual coils on the 8 spark plugs on your 2002 Ford Crown Victoria firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Crown Victoria
Actually it doesn't have a distributor or distributor cap The 2001 Ford Crown Victoria has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils
For a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria : 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Ford Crown Victoria ( V8 )
On a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria : There is no distributor , it has an Electronic Distributorless Ignition System ( EDIS ) with ( 2 ) ignition coil packs that have four towers on each where the spark plug wires connect
On a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria : The firing order is ( 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 ) The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of vehicle A 2001 Ford Crown Victoria has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils
On a ( 1998 ) Ford Crown Victoria : It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of vehicle
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I know that on the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria the engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of vehicle So I ASSUME the coils would be : firewall D - H C - G B - F A - E front of vehicle ( that seems logical to me )
For a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria : ( 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 ) It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of vehicle
You should have C.O.P. ( coil on plug ) The plugs are under the coils.
It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system , so there are ( 8 ) individual coils firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front
Probably computer controlled and not adjustable
