Your Silverado came factory equipped with premium spark plugs designed to be efficent for 80,000 miles. Replace them sooner if you have neglected regular service of engine filters and oil changes, drive in dusty conditions, live in an extreme climate, or do a number of short trips which do not allow the engine to reach operating temperature, or if you have experienced sub-standard quality gasoline. The AC brand plugs you put in will be a Platinum plug, and should give another 80,000 miles service.
If they are platinum plugs, should be every 95,000 to 100,000 miles.
no
40,000 km
They come from the factory with platnium plugs. The factory recomends changing every 100,000 miles
With the new fuel injected engine and improved ignition systems you should be able to go 100,000 before tune-up
No, as long as they were working good before you changed plugs and did not break them while changing the plugs they will work fine.
How many miles should I have before I change my spark plugs
how do i change the spark plugs on a Chevy silverado 1500
Yes
Generally speaking, todays cars do not require tuneups. If your check engine light is on, your need computer diagnostics. If you go by your owners manual, you will see that the plugs do not need changing until 100,000 miles. Change your fuel filter every 30,000 miles. Check the air filter at each oil change.
Don't just replace the plugs unless you can be certain that there IS power before the plug and NO power after the plug. There are far too many people who jump to conclusions only to find out later that they're wrong. BTW, unless you NEED the plugs, why not solder the wires and wrap them with some silicone sealer and heat shrink tubing.
ONE AT A TIME.
