I have the same engine different serial # but my engine is a 1970
5 quarts with filter change.
The best in my opinon is, Yamaha. The Chrysler 1969 or older 318, or the Ford 1970 or older 351 Cleveland.
I would assume it would take ( 5.0 U.S. quarts with engine oil filter change in a car ) * I was looking at my Chilton's Auto Repair manual and for the ( 1970 ) GM CAR model years it shows that for all the V8 engines as far as I can see
5.8 lts or 5 Quarts with filter 5.8 lts
on the back of the motor driverside cast on the block
sure, you can use motor plates to hold it in.
Cadillac had a 500 ci engine in the 70's.
You can use another 360, a 390, or a 428. Have fun! It does not need to be a 70' motor, a 390' would be a logical choice for many reasons.
A 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle with a 454 engine typically requires about 5 quarts of oil when including the oil filter. It's always a good practice to check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and to verify the exact amount, as it can vary slightly based on the engine's configuration and any additional modifications.
The biggest motor made by Pontiac was the 455 cubic inch V8 engine. It was produced from 1970 to 1976 and was known for its performance and power output.
It should be on the engine block itself which would mean you would have to take the whole engine out to get to it or go underneath it to get it.
