NO. Not even close.
To install a 454 Chevy big block engine in a 1976 Chevy Nova, you can use headers specifically designed for big block Chevy applications, such as Hooker Super Comp or Hedman Hustler headers. These headers provide the necessary clearance and fitment for the larger engine within the Nova's engine bay. Additionally, ensure you have a proper set of engine mounts and consider any modifications needed for steering or exhaust clearance.
Changing carbs probably wouldn't add much if anything, but headers and dual exhaust could give 10 hp.
Each pound is about 454 grams.
250+ hp
The undressed weight is about 700 lbs.
You will probably need to use block hugger headers. The fit will be VERY tight because there isn't much room for headers on a small block. If you remove the inner fenders you will have much more room but there will also be a lot of draw backs to this. Check with Hooker or another high quality brand name. Don't waste your time with flotech. They won't have what you're looking for. Here's a suggestion. I know that the same headers will fit on a 72-76 Impala and a 77-90 Impala. It is possible that a set of headers for a 72-76 big block car will also fit for the 77-90 cars.
yes but there will be lots of mods such as stearing rack, headers, and hood. but it can be done. :)
Headers designed for a 350 engine typically will not fit a 454 engine without modifications. The two engines have different dimensions and exhaust port configurations. While some aftermarket headers may be adaptable, it's essential to verify compatibility based on specific measurements and designs. Always consult manufacturer specifications or an expert for the best fit.
