The 2003 Saturn Vue typically requires about 1.5 to 2.0 pounds of R-134a refrigerant for its air conditioning system. It's essential to check the specific model and any service manual for precise specifications, as variations can occur based on the engine type and other factors. Always ensure that the system is properly evacuated and serviced by a professional to avoid overcharging.
The 03 Saturn Vue does not use a stand alone camshaft sensor. The system uses the ignition system as a sensor, tapping into the number one and four cylinder firing systems.
If the car has ABS there will be sensors there, byt ABS is optional. Here is a picture of the hub if it has it http://www.1aauto.com/1A/wheel-bearing-hub-rear/Saturn/Vue/1ASHR00057/1052199
It uses a T45 Torx bit.
Contains no (R12) Freon. Freon was banned in 1996.
On a 2003 Saturn Vue, the sunroof drain tubes are typically located at the four corners of the sunroof assembly. They run down through the A-pillars and exit behind the front wheel wells. To access them, you may need to remove the headliner and trim panels. It's important to ensure these drain tubes are clear to prevent water from leaking into the interior.
The transmission pressure switch on a 2003 Saturn Vue with a 4-cylinder engine is typically located on the transmission itself. It can be found on the side or top of the transmission case, near the valve body. Accessing it may require removing some components, so it's advisable to consult a repair manual for specific guidance on your vehicle.
A HUMMING SOUND CAN BE A BAD WHEEL BEARING.(YOU WOULD HEAR THIS AT ANY SPEED AND ANY ROAD SURFACE) Our '03 Vue hummed also. Replaced the rear wheel bearing/hub assembly...40,000 miles! My 03 Vue had a bad carrier bearing...The drive shaft is a two part design...and where the two meet is a bearing ...when mine started acting up it sounded like the rear wheel bearing..It's not easy to change you need a bearing press...
An '03 Saturn Vue may stall while driving due to several potential issues, including fuel delivery problems, such as a clogged fuel filter or failing fuel pump, which can restrict fuel flow to the engine. Electrical issues, such as a faulty ignition coil or a failing crankshaft position sensor, can also disrupt engine performance. Additionally, vacuum leaks or problems with the engine's air intake system may lead to stalling. Regular maintenance and diagnostic checks can help identify and resolve these issues.
When it happened on mine, it was the BCM going out. All the accessories & instrument panel went nuts when the key was in the on position, but when you tried to turn the car on, nothing would happen.
I am currently having this same issue with my 03 Vue, and I got a diagnostic done (twice). The issue seems to be the BMC. Initially, I had the same issue as you, but over about the next year, my gauges started to bounce and the powersteering goes in and out. My SERVICE light also lit up and my A/C stopped working. Hope this helps.
Probably low on freon.
A few hundred dollar's. That's not including service and freon. I would call all local parts store for quotes.
