To install a 24-valve Cummins engine in a 1999 Dodge Dakota, you'll need to start by removing the existing engine and transmission. Next, you'll have to modify the engine mounts and possibly the transmission crossmember to accommodate the larger Cummins engine. Additionally, you'll need to address wiring harness adaptations, cooling system upgrades, and exhaust modifications to fit the new engine properly. Finally, ensure that the fuel system is compatible and capable of delivering the necessary fuel for the Cummins engine.
