I've seen 360, 390 and 460 all said to be standard.

If the 360 is in a F100 the point gap is .021. If the 360 is in a F250 or bigger the point gap is .017.
It can have either a 360 or 390 V8. Most likely a 360.

Do you mean the 360 ( 5.9 L ) V8 engine used in the 1972 Ford trucks ? If so , it and the 302 - V8 have a firing order : 1 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8 The distributor rotor turns counterclockwise
The timing should be around 6-8 Degrees advanced.
