the part alone can range from 160.00 to 350.00 it depends on what parts store u go to call around and find a store that price matches always get the lifetime warrenty (your gonna need it) the alternators for these cars go out about ever 12 to 18 months. the labor at a shope can go from 160.00 to 200.00 my sugestion is to buy the part on your own ( it cheaper then buying it from the repair shope) and have a pro install it doing it your self is very VERY difficult. all together your price range is gonna be about 400.00 or more.
To remove the alternator from a 2007 Dodge Caliber, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts. Then, remove the serpentine belt by releasing tension using the tensioner pulley. Next, unbolt the alternator from its mount, disconnect the electrical connectors, and carefully lift it out of the engine bay. Make sure to reverse the steps for installation of the new alternator.
