Just had mine fully rebuilt - $2100.00 w/full warranty on tranny, transfer case & driveshaft. I am told that many factors figure into the cost including what part of the country you are in and most importantly what kind of guarantee you want on the work. I could have gotten a cheaper price but with only a 30 day warranty on the tranny. I think they are tying to tell you something when they say they can do the job for $1500 but only back it for 30 days or for $2100.00 they will rebuild the entire drive train (except the engine)and back it - labor and parts - for 36 months/36,000 miles and that is regardless of whether I tow or plow with it. Did I do the right thing? Who knows? I need the truck to be dependable.
