When i called around, Ford said its about $85- $125 and hour and would take anywhere from 8-9 hrs. The part itself costs about $800-$1200. Not a cheap job. I checked to see if they make a remanufactored clutch ( because there cheaper) and they dont for this car.

The slave cylinder is usually replaced during a clutch replacement. What is the cost to replace the clutch in a 1997 Mazda Protege?

I have a 1997 Mazda Protege ES and the Replacement Clutch cost about $125 from Advanced Auto Parts. The labor charged was around $350 at a local shop. I also had a broken Clutch Fork (the reason I had to get it fixed) which cost me only about $25 from Mazda's dealership. All together I had to pay around $500, but I believe I got a relatively good Labor cost; just shop around for the best price.
