the parts costs depend on the vehicle and motor, it shouldn't be to hard to replace, just be sure the mounting bolts are securly tightened
Since There is no tensioner pulley you have to loosen your alternator.
it depends on the engine. on a 2.8l, the serpentine belt tensioner is below the power steering pump. pay careful attention to how the belt is routed, especially if there is no belt routing diagram under the hood (should be on the belt guard on top of the engine). release the tension from the tensioner, replace the belt, make sure you have it routed correctly, release the tensioner.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. The power steering belt will come loose. Remove the power steering belt. Reverse the process to install the new power steering belt.
To replace the power steering belt on a 1991 Mercury Capri, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and safely supported. Locate the power steering pump and identify the tensioner mechanism. Loosen the tensioner bolt and remove the old belt from the pulleys. Finally, install the new belt, ensuring it's properly seated on all pulleys, then adjust the tension before tightening the tensioner bolt.
Remove the belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. Remove the power steering hoses. Remove the retaining nuts. Reverse the process to install the new power steering pump.
remove belt, remove upper accessory tensioner bolt (shock) remove bolts holding power steering pump and push to side - to get at recessed tensioner bolt. remove lower a/c bracket - front of engine. Remove tensioner bolts and tensioner.
To replace the power steering belt on a Toyota truck, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the power steering pump and identify the tensioner, then loosen the tensioner bolt to relieve tension on the belt. Remove the old belt and install the new one, ensuring it sits properly on all pulleys. Finally, adjust the tensioner to apply proper tension to the new belt, and tighten all bolts before starting the engine to check for any unusual noises.
The belt tensioner for the AC/Alternator belt is beneath the alternator. Facing the engine from bumper you can see the ac/alternator belt tensioner on the left side and beneath the alternator. Losen that bolt with size 12 socket. Next, loosen the tensioner bolt until the belt loosens. Now, with the Power Steering Belt you can loosen it by locating the belt tensioner usually found inside of the power steering belt on the power steering pump. Loosen both bolts and if needed pry UP the power steering belt tensioner and the belt should loosen. Repeat until belt comes off. Installation is the reversal of removal. NOTE: You may have to pry down the power steering pump tensioner to tighten the belt.
There is an adjuster on the power steering pump. One cannot adjust it as it has an automatic tensioner if the belt is squeaking it is time to replace belt/tensioner or both
To replace the power steering belt on a 1993 Infiniti G20, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Loosen the tensioner bolt and adjust the tensioner to relieve tension on the belt. Remove the old belt from the pulleys and install the new belt, ensuring it follows the correct routing. Finally, adjust the tensioner to apply proper tension to the new belt, re-tighten the bolts, and reconnect the battery.
The belt tensioner is located at the bottom of the power steering pump looking at it from the front the tensioner is on the bottom left. you could always loosen the alternator up a little. My 1997 with a 4.0 does not have a tensioner pulley, and I believe the 99s are the same. the alternator is the tensioner. Remove one of the bolts and it will swivel in and you can get the belt off
To replace the power steering belt on a 2001 Hyundai Accent, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Loosen the tensioner pulley by adjusting the tensioner bolt, then remove the old belt from the pulleys. Install the new belt by routing it around the pulleys according to the belt diagram usually found in the engine bay. Finally, adjust the tensioner to ensure the belt is tight and secure, then check the alignment before starting the engine.
