There are 4 bolts that hold the hood onto the back hinges, loosen 2 bolts at a time on just one side and the hood will slide back and forth, it helps to have 2 people doing the job but you just keep moving the hood around on both sides until you get it where you want it, have patience.
To align the hood on a Pontiac GTO, start by loosening the hinge bolts on each side of the hood to allow for adjustment. Close the hood gently and check for even gaps between the hood and the fenders; adjust as necessary by raising or lowering the rear or front of the hood. Once the alignment looks good, tighten the hinge bolts while ensuring the hood remains in position. Finally, test the hood's operation to ensure it opens and closes smoothly without binding.
I bought a 2006 hood for my 2004 GTO and it fit perfectly. No problem what so ever.
The only GTO that came with a shaker hood was the model year 1974.
Short answer is no. The '64 was one year only, came to a point at the grill that was integrated into the shape of the hood. '65 hood will fit '66 and '67.

No. Per "Original Pontiac GTO" the hood tach started midway onto the '67 model year as a dealer installed option.

Yes, it fits the 2002 Pontiac WS6 Cover 04-06 GTO.
Not from the factory. You might be thinking of the later Trans Ams.

I would assume so. I have a Chevy 454 in my 68 GTO, and it fits fine. I just used chevelle Motor Mounts. Bolted right to the a-body frame. However my hood on the 68 might have more room from the ram air set up.
To install a hood tach on a 1967-69 Pontiac GTO, start by removing the hood to access the mounting area. Position the tachometer at the desired location, usually centered on the hood, and mark the drill holes. Drill the holes carefully, then secure the tachometer using the provided hardware. Finally, connect the tach's wiring to the ignition system, ensuring a proper ground and power connection. Reattach the hood once installation is complete.
