For pads only, remove single caliper bolt and rotate the caliper away/off the rotor as it will pivot on the anchor bolt on other end. Pads will easily pop off. Caliper piston is a screw design and will need tool from auto parts store. hope this helps!

To replace the rear brakes on a 2007 Buick Lucerne, first, lift the rear of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the wheel and tire, then locate the brake caliper and remove the caliper bolts to detach the caliper from the rotor. Carefully slide off the old brake pads and replace them with new ones, ensuring to compress the caliper piston back into the caliper housing. Rear brakes do not have to be replaced too often. It's really hard to tell without looking at it. What you can do is to replace front brakes and test drive it, if you feel that your car brakes works just fine you do not need to replace rear brake shoes.
