To reset the computer on a 2004 Jeep Liberty, you can disconnect the negative battery cable and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes. This allows the computer to reset and clears any stored error codes. After the time has passed, reconnect the negative cable and start the vehicle, allowing it to idle for a few minutes to help the computer recalibrate. Alternatively, you can use an OBD-II scanner to clear codes directly from the vehicle's computer.
