as you look at your head unit, you will notice four holes, 2 on either side,
these are the holes to the brackets holding your factory head in place,
an actual tool can be purchased, but just get some Alan keys or coat hanger wire,
now this is the tricky part... it doesnt just fall out, you'll have to fiddle around here for a while... i got annoyed and just ripped the face plate off the factory head, makes getting to the clips alot easier... but anyway, they will push in towards the head unit it self, and it will just pull out, unplug the loom and aerial cabling and get ready from more fun!
the wiring colours are as follows, just match them up to your new heads loom colours;
Violet/Red = Acc 12v+
Yellow = Battery 12v+
Black = Ground
Brown = Illumination
Dark Blue/Red = Dimming
Pink = Mobile Phone
Light Blue/Yellow = Mobile Phone
Light Green = Mute
Dark Green/White = Sat Nav
Pink/Orange = Sat Nav
Dark Blue = Sat Nav
Pink/Black & Pink/Dark Green = LH Rear
Dark Blue/Black & Dark Blue/Red = RH Rear
Grey/Black & Grey/Dark Green = RH Front
Orange/Black & Orange/Light Green = LH Front
Red/Dark Blue = Power Antenna
Red/White = External Controls (Volume on Steering Wheel)
Light Blue/White = Intrument Cluster
Red/Black = Instrument Cluster
Orange/Black = Instrument Cluster
the first colour being the main wire colour and the second being the stripe or dots
take note on the fact you only really need power, acc, earth and speakers
cut that over with what ever means you deem livable, i recommended striping back twitching (twisting together) and soldering, or butt connectors, or even spade is you can be bothered!
hope it goes well!

Front surface of driver side head
the heater fuse is located inside the actual air-con unit, they put them there to save space
The temperature sending unit on a Ford V10 gas 6.8 liter is on the front of the cylinder head. It is a true sending unit and not just an on and off switch.
You don't the factory one is a part of the system wiring loop remove the old one and the car won't go!
it dosent have one
you have to cutt the dash were the old head unit was , you have to measure out the size u want first then after just try on the head unit to see if it fits in the hole
it probally became disconnected from the back of the head unit.
