To change a CV axle on a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, you'll typically need a 34mm socket for the axle nut. Additionally, you may need a 13mm or 15mm socket for the bolts securing the control arm or the transmission side of the axle. Always consult the vehicle's manual for specific details, as there can be variations based on the engine type or trim.
