Ya gotta be REALLY CAREFUL!!! Most likely, the fittings have started to rust by now, just because of "age" and the fact that Chevy LOST THEIR MINDS when they put the filter under the cab! Morons. Anyhow, the very WORST thing that can happen is to force either/both of those fittings and crimp/weaken the gas line 'cause, IF you do that.....well, then you're replacing the fuel line. SO, BE CAREFUL!!! Get the proper wrenches; there ARE special wrenches for those fittings. Spray them LIBERALLY (this stuff is VERY inexpensive, especially compared to replacing the fuel line!!!) with "RUST FREE" or something along those lines. Coat the fittings a few times over a whole day...trust me, spend a little extra time up front BEFORE you try these fittings and you'll be MORE than repaid when the fittings loosen without twisting the fuel line!!! Get a GOOD fuel filter. Not a time to pinch pennies....put a good one in place and it will pay dividends in the long run. Only a few bucks difference. Remember, BE GENTLE with those goofy fittings! Take your time. LUCK!!!
