pick up a bottle of HOT SHOT FREON, You wil need a EPA card to buy this. Just vacuum out your system then add about 12 ounces of the hot shot freon. HOT SHOT is a direct replacement for R12.
R134a
R134a
It is R134a. If it is serviced, DO NOT use any with leak stop as that will ruin a repair shops equipment.
Was built for R12, should be converted to R134a
Was built for R12, should be converted to R134a
There should be a sticker under the hood somewhere that tells you how much R134a freon and how must oil the system calls for.
1994
In a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer : r134a
It came with R12 (Freon). Look for a sticker on the unit, as it may have been converted. If not convert it to R134a. My advice, is, take it to a professional.
R134a
Unless it has been converted over to R134 it came with R12. I suggest you convert it to R134a. R12 is very expensive.
A 1998 Mercury would use R134a refrigerant.
