you can buy a tool for this at your local auto parts or i dont need one, just take out all the screws (some on the door handle, take the plastic part off the handle, a couple in the arm rest area leave the arm rest it doesnt come off) then just pull up on the panel
Under the cover there should be two screws. On my '02 Firebird they were a star screw. Taking those two screws off let the panel come out.
