if it is like a 1997. you have to start by pulling the dash loose. then you have to disconnect the a/c and the heater hoses from under the hood. the heater core is in the aircondition box assy. take it out of the car and split the case in 2. you will have to recharge the air conditioning when you put it all back together. Very time consuming job well worth the money to pay someone else to do.

You will be better off if you buy a service manual or borrow one from a library. You have to drain the freon, remove the entire dash, remove the heater/ac housing, and dissassemble the housing to access the heater core.
It is never easy to replace a heater core. Replace it is easy, but getting access to it is never easy. But your Jeep Wrangler is one of the easier ones to replace. Just remove enough of the dash parts to gain access to the core. Be careful and remember where and how everything goes back together. Photos taken during the process with digital camera might help you remember.
