To access the fan switch on the multifunction switch assembly (MFSA) you first have to remove the instrument panel (IP) accessory housing. This housing is made of plastic and goes around the front edges and around the sides of the car radio and MFSA.
To remove the IP accessory housing:
1. Open the ashtray or cupholder and remove two screws from the front of the housing.
2. Remove the two screws from the bottom of the housing. These bottom screws are accessible only after removal of the console storage box.
To remove the console storage box:
1. Open the storage box door and empty all contents.
2. Remove two screws on the front side wall of the box.
3. Slide the console storage box back and then to the passenger side of the vehicle for easy access to the bottom the the IP accessory housing.
To remove the fan switch from the MFSA:
1. Pull the fan switch knob out of the MFSA.
2. Remove the two screws holding the MFSA to the IP.
3. Remove the left electrical connector attached to the fan switch on the back of the MFSA.
4. Remove the one screw on the back of the MFSA that holds down the fan switch.
Replace fan switch and reverse above procedures.
