This takes time, patience and usually causes a lot of swearing. If you look on the passenger side below the dash there is a black curved box, the heater core is in there so that whole black box must be removed ....
Removing it involves removing all the screws holding the dash molding down, you have to remove the dash support bar on the passenger side, disconnect all the ducts and disconnect the hoses from under the hood (there are two and they are just below the AC system and go to the firewall.) Since the heater core uses engine coolant it's best to drain the radiator first (perfect time to do a flush as well!). You might also need a gentle application of force with a pry bar to get it out.
All in all, swapping the core in the black box takes about 5-10 minutes, getting the box in and out of the vehicle takes hours.
Hi: Have you an elctrical diagram for the cruise control of a Citation GMC 1985 (Vandura). Regards.
The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of a 1985 GMC Vandura typically ranges from around 6,000 to 8,600 pounds, depending on the specific model and configuration. This weight includes the vehicle itself, any cargo, and passengers. It's important to check the manufacturer's specifications or the label inside the driver's door for the exact GVWR for a particular Vandura model.
remove the arm rest cover , you can see the bolt
It does not take freon. The 1995 GMC Vandura uses the new R134a.
To replace the voltage regulator on a 1985 GMC Vandura 2500 with a 6.2 diesel engine, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Locate the voltage regulator, which is typically mounted on the firewall or near the alternator, and remove any screws or bolts securing it. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old regulator, then install the new regulator by reversing the removal process, ensuring all connections are secure. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the electrical system to confirm proper operation.
how do you replace a fuel filter on a 1985 G.M.C. High Sierra
No, the GMC Vandura is a van. If you have the Starcraft conversion, the van is technically considered a station wagon for insurance purposes (much cheaper).
To replace the evaporator on a 1995 GMC Vandura 2500, start by disconnecting the battery and draining the refrigerant from the A/C system. Remove the dashboard and any components obstructing access to the heater-A/C unit. Unbolt the evaporator from the housing, replace it with the new unit, and reassemble everything in reverse order. Finally, recharge the A/C system and test for proper operation.
The ECM on the Vandura 2500 is under the Driver's seat.
