The 95 Lumina with a 3.1 engine does not have a temperature sending unit. Instead, the dash temp gauge is controlled by the engine coolant temp sensor. This sensor is located on the driver's side, top of the engine.

On the 2008 Chevy Silverado, the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) gauge is located on the instrument cluster, which is directly in front of the driver. It is typically part of the gauge array that includes the speedometer and other critical indicators.
