I assume by this question you mean the ignition lock?
If so it is a fairly simple process in that all you do is remove the shroud from around the steering column/lock, put the key in the ignition and turn the switch to either ignition position I. that is if it is an old (pre tibbi) style lock or ignition II. if it is a tibbi lock (more modern rounded key)
You will then find a small hole or slot in the alloy housing into which you insert a small screwdriver or Allen key, push the retaining spring in and then pull on the key, the lock will then simply slide out.
HOWEVER
a word of caution modern transits have a transponder built into the key and you will have to have the keys programmed to work with your ignition system or cut the top off your old key and somehow fasten it to the new one so that the ignition module gets the correct information and allows you to start the vehicle.
