Bad smells in the aircon is usually caused by bacteria. You can buy special air con sprays that kill off moulds and bacterias making the car smell nice again.
Unplug clogged evaporator drain plug.
Buy a new one :)...x<3
It could have a blown gasket which causes that smell. And there could be something loose in the interior of the air conditioner.
no
Blown fuse? Bad relay? Bad switch? Bad fan motor?
What most likely is happening is the A/C compressor has gone bad and its not able to turn when it is switched on. The burning rubber smell is probably the belt sliding across the compressor pulley that's not turning.
Most likely a clogged drain that drains A/C evaporator condensation.
When the mass air flow sensor is bad you will have a rich smell in you car. Additionally, your car will consume more gas as you drive it.
how do you know if the air conditioner in your car works in the winter
Yes, but it's not an effective means of ventilation if you're trying to avoid the smell from remaining.
An air conditioner in a car uses quite a bit of power. It is not unusual for a car to hesitate when the AC comes on.
It sounds like you have a locked up a/c compressor or a bad a/c clutch..........
