How you fix a random misfire on 2002 dodge ram 1500?

I had that code on my 97 2500, and I started with the spark plugs, and that was the problem. The gap was way too huge, replaced them with new ones with the proper gap and bam! Start there and work your way back...Spark plugs, plug wires, cap. The problem is there somewhere.
