When ever this problem comes up, it is almost always a problem with the secondary ignition system. One way to confirm this is to take a spray bottle with water and a little salt. Start the engine and spray the distributor cap and ignition wires. If you do this at night it will be easier to see. If you see sparks jumping all over the place, you found the problem. A short term solution is to spray everything with silicone. The long term solution is to replace the distributor cap, distributor rotor and ignition wires.
