The engine is timed from TDC no-1 cylinder, firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2, the distributor turns in a clock wise direction when facing the engine from the front.

It si a 90 degree v-8, which means for every 90 degrees of crankshaft rotation

a cylinder will fire.
