I was looking at the 2004 Ford Explorer fuse diagrams and I see that in the Power Distribution Box in the engine compartment ( which is " live ) that fuse # 41 is a 15 amp mini fuse for the ignition coil on the 4.0 liter V6 ( I'm not a mechanic / technician , it's just something I noticed )
coil packs are the unit on top of every spark plug in ur engine........ty...........no autographs
To install a new replacement pack on a Ford Escape you need to remove the screw from the plastic cover. Next, you will see the visible coils which can be removed and then replaced.
there is no coil on 2004 freestar 3.9L engine. it is only an ignition module and it is located in the back of the engine by the firewall.

To replace the ignition coil on a 2003 Ford Escape, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, remove the engine cover if necessary, and locate the ignition coils on the engine. Carefully disconnect the electrical connector from the coil, remove the bolt securing the coil, and then pull the coil out. Install the new coil by reversing the process, ensuring it is properly seated and the connector is secure before reconnecting the battery.
